013: la semaine

01: Pretty crappy week. Just revised and I wish I could say I did a lot but I didn't do a lot. I wish I could be like those people who can just knuckle down and work for hours. I can only do like 20-30 minute slots and then I have to take a short break (like I am now). It's pretty pathetic...I'm also really slow at revising. It just hit me how little time I have so I'm just focusing on past papers and boring stuff which is really stressing me out.

02: I went sale shopping yesterday though and got some lovely pieces. I didn't have money so I could only get some real bargains thanks to my parents but I got some lovely jumpers and jewellery. I can't wait for the January sales when everything is marked down AGAIN. So so excited. I'm going to go crazy after my exams but I'll probably be crying with fear for my results too.

03: I wanted to say hey to my new followers! WOO 173! Hi guys <3 I hope you all like the new header, and the new 5 things post. I also added my pages back, I completely forget about them but they're up there (under the header) again.

04: Finally, I have an outfit I made on polyvore. Christmas partaaaay.
Hope you all have a lovely holiday!
xoxo

5 Things

Complete inspiration from Emily (@ CupcakesandCashmere. LOVE this girl's blog!) especially as I take so many pictures. Hopefully this means I can just post ONE picture in my la semaine's cos I throw a lot in there, along with a chunk of writing which can look a bit boring. So anyway, in these posts which I'll do as often as I can I'll show you five things I'm loving :)

 {My lovely stocking/advent calender.}

 {Embellishments!}

 {Rings of course.}

 {Headbands}

{My adorable snowman mug!}

What make-up do I use?

I remember at the beginning of my blog's birth it was more focused on beauty because I was initially a beauty blogger. Only now have I really gotten into make-up but I use my blog for fashion because I personally think there's enough beauty blogs out there, and I have a bigger passion for fashion (woog bratz!). However I recently got a request to show my make-up so here we go!

 Make-up bag: H&M

FACE
 Primer: The Present- clear make-up by Philosophy
Concealer: MAC Studio Finish NC30
Foundation: No7 Lifting & Firming #45: Walnut

CHEEKS
 QVS Duo-fibre brush
Angled brush: Dr Pierre Ricaud
Benefit Powder Pop
MAC MSF in Comfort
NARS blush in Dolce Vita

MAC MSF in Comfort
NARS blush in Dolce Vita
 EYES
STILA eyeshadow quad in Marrakesh
REVLON satin eyeshadow in Nude Slip
REVLON contour blending brush

 REVLON satin eyeshadow in Nude Slip

Dark red-brown from STILA eyeshadow quad in Marrakesh

REVLON kohl eyeliner
REVLON grow luscious mascara
Maybelline define-a-lash mascara

(These are just winter faves, I don't always wear these...)
RIMMEL Colour show-off lipstick in Red Fever
Dr Pierre Ricaud lipstick in Bois De Rose

There we are! I don't take my make-up around with me, I apply some in the morning (not all!) and that's it. I rarely wear eyeshadow now, I go through phases. Right now I'm in a cheek phase and I'm LOVING my msf and blush too. I usually just apply mascara on eyes and with lipstick I dab it on lightly. If you have any questions/requests feel free to drop them below :)

STYLE: Selena Gomez

YES  a new feature to my blog. I've done this before, just not completely honing in on style. Every week or two weeks I will show you my style inspirations. I have quite a few so I think I'll be okay for a while, but I can see an end to my list. However I won't just be using celebrities, I'll also be featuring some bloggers who inspire me too!

So this week it is SELENA GOMEZ. Now if I'm going to be honest, I hate her character in Wizards of Waverly Place. She does a brilliant job at acting her but Alex Russo is the worst character. She's lazy, boring, ANNOYING and basically causes the trouble that other people have to fix. Why do I even bother watching? For Justin Russo and Max Russo, and Alex's clothes. Because clothes-wise Alex Russo is perfection.

Credit: most of them from dresslikeselena or selenastyle. Few from Stealtheirstyle.
Her own style is very casual. Most outfits I found involved a top, cardigan/jacket and jeans. Jeans seem to be her best friend and she wears them a LOT. Her red carpet attire are beautiful and flowy, and very age appropriate. Also the black dress at the end of the first row (the fifth one)? You can buy yourself one from ASOS in either black, red or purple for £85. I'm so tempted to do so!

HOW TO DRESS LIKE SELENA:
  • TSHIRTS! Always have a few baggy tshirts in white, grey, blue. Stock up on them and find interesting ones with patterns or slogans.
  • Make jeans your BFFL. Dark blue ones are the most slimming and usually suit most clothes. Slap on a pair along with a cool tee.
  • To dress up a casual outfit of tshirt and jeans, throw a pretty scarf around your neck and slip on some gorgeous shoes (or boots). You're set!
  • Also just to up the factor, make sure you have a drool-worthy bag. It always works.
  • Or you could skip all of that and throw on a lovely maxi dress (I love the rust coloured one she's wearing above), strap on a belt and sling a pretty necklace et VOILA.
  • For a formal evening/party find a dress that is flowy and pretty. Selena really likes her strapless dresses and she always wears some gorgeous heels with them. Aim for a princess!
  • And finally, after looking through ridiculous amounts of her candid shots out and about, it is safe to say that Selena Gomez LOVES Urban Outfitters. Most of her clothes are from there.
So there we are...SELENA GOMEZ.
If you guys have any suggestions of who your style crushes/inspirations are then please tell me! Chances are I probably love them too and I'll feature them.

012: la semaine

Monki
01: Sorry I've been a bit AWOL this week. It's been so busy! Had to help the school with front of house, hand in my biology coursework, hand in my EPQ (IT'S FINALLY OVER!!), clean up the common room and just finish off the year. I sat down to do a post many times but I was feeling a bit uninspired.
02: Yesterday was a day sent from hell. We left the house, there was no snow. We were happy and just cold. Then it started snowing as we were driving. Now usually snow doesn't lay IMMEDIATELY but within about 2 minutes there was a layer of snow. And by the time we got to canterbury there were a few inches. AND THE TRAFFIC JAM FROM HELL. We were stuck for 8 hours. Yes that's right EIGHT HOURS.

03: Now I'm going to Canterbury again today for a sleepover. I pray its a bit better. FINGERS CROSSED FOR ME!

04: The pictures show a brochure from MONKI. It's a swedish brand but I MUST get my hands on some of the pieces. The brochure is so cute and innovative, I love flicking through. Everything is decorated and perfected- just TOO CUTE. I love that they send this to me free too! The pictures are so gorgeous and at the beginning they have this bloggers Q&A thing. I recommend ordering a brochure!

05: This is a stupidly short post but I will take pictures of stuff I've bought and show you guys! Exciting stuff ;)

Much love
xoxo
