We don't need your money

Dress: ASOS
Jumper: River Island
Coat: Matalan

Really quick outfit today, I wore this to school today and it's actually a dress that I've worn before. I haven't worn it in AGES but I wanted something slouchy over it so I wore this River Island jumper I picked up in the sale for a tenner. It's one of those things you take to a sleepover to wear the next day when you just can't be bothered. You can wear it with most things and it offers a bit more of an interesting piece than your average sweatshirt/jumper. I also get to finally show you my coat! It was £15 from Matalan in the sale and I love it. The colour, the shape...just everything! Such a perfect spring coat.

Sorry about the lighting guys, it's dark. Its only thanks to the RAW settings that I salvaged it to this level, otherwise it would've been pitch black! I really need to get a flashgun! Do you guys have any tips on making pictures brighter without ruining their quality?

I'm seriously losing patience with this laptop. I would very much like my macbook NOW. Anyways, the shorts I posted last time? I made an outfit for them. This outfit must be mine:

Anyone else losing the will to live due to lack of money? So many nice things in the world...sigh.
Lots of love!

018: la semaine

01: Sorry the quality in the above picture looks a bit off, blogger uploader really crapifies pictures. I just can't be bothered to upload to photobucket at the moment...Anyway after watching Tanya's new video on minimal make-up I've been obsessed. It looks so light and fresh, I'm wearing it above. All I have on is a dab of concealer, tinted moisturiser, a light sweep of MSF, a teeny tiny bit of mascara and a swipe of pink lipgloss. This will definitely be my everyday routine for a while now. I recommend everyone to try it! It'll let your skin breathe while you still look fabulous!

02: School is getting hard, I really need to work. Because of this I'm going to limit myself to two posts a week. I seriously prioritise this blog over my school work and I really shouldn't! The two posts should consist of one outfit/style inspiration/wishlist/5things post and one la semaine post. It's like the exams have strained me into nothing and I can't do anything anymore. NOT GOOD.

03: After seeing these shorts (below) on someones blog I am craving them. I really want to buy them but a) they're pricey and b) I don't think I have the legs for shorts. I may go and try them on. I'd wear these with a pretty blouse and thick tights + brogues. What do you guys think of them?
04: Right I should get a move on and get my work done. Once I start I can go on for a while but I just have to make sure not to stop because after I stop I won't be back for a long while...

Lots of love

In my spaceship I'm an alien tonight

Blazer: Primark
White tshirt: New Look
Nude/mocha vest: Primark
Skirt: ASOS
Tights: random
Necklace: Topshop
Ring: River Island
Headband: Matalan
Nails: Models Own- Gold Digger

First outfit of the year! I haven't done these in ages. I'm kind of out of practice...hence the weird quality. I still need to work on quality, the main problem is lack of light. I may purchase a flashgun, this photography business is expensive stuff!

One thing I need to reinforce about this outfit is that everything, and I seriously mean everything, is bargains. The top was bought a year ago in the New Look sale, the blazer was a recent bargain in Primark for £5 reduced from £15, the skirt was £10 on sale from ASOS, the necklace was bought today for £2.50 from topshop, the ring was £2 or £3 from River Island on sale a year ago, the headband was on sale for £2 from matalan. The only non-sale items are the mocha vest (only £2 anyway...) and I presume the tights but I can't remember.

I really need to buy more tights, I'm thinking a trip to primark in the forseeable future. I'm also getting frustrated by my room, I have too much stuff! It clutters up my room and I get all jittery and annoyed and have to clean it up otherwise I can't work for some reason. It's so time consuming but I have to do it, I'm thinking about buying this dresser which has storage to put some clothes in. It would really clear up some room in my wardrobe and stop it falling apart from me stuffing new clothes into it. I also need to get under-the-bed storage because it's a minefield under there.

You may remember in my la semaine post this week I mentioned The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas, I couldn't get to sleep that night! I kept hearing the mother's scream from the end ringing around my head. I am too easily disturbed or affected, it's quite annoying really. Also my friend had told me about The Grudge and I keep listening out for that creepy noise that she made. UGGGHHH.

Ok I should start revising for some topic tests. I need some Just Dance 2 today, I  keep neglecting it. I need to stick to it!
Lots of love,

STYLE: Clemence Poesy

You may remember this fresh-faced beauty from Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire but you may also recognise her (more recently) from Gossip Girl as Chuck Bass' love interest. There is something irresistable yet frail and elegant about her. She seems to have the talent to pull anything off! Out and about you can see her staples are jeans/leggings and flats with a loose top, a thick scarf and her gorgeous hair falling around her face. For evening wear she's very feminine with pleats, sparkle and soft colours. Her style is delicate and graceful.

HOW TO DRESS LIKE CLEMENCE:
  • If out and about go very casual. A loose tshirt or sweatshirt and jeans with a nice satchel and flats are a good staple. If cold throw on a chunky cardi and scarf. If you want to dress it up a little then wear a nice blazer and roll the sleeves up.
  • Be quite trend conscious, Clemence has taken note of the cape trend and the embellished jacket trend however keep them dressed down. She wore the gold embellished jacket with a tshirt and jeans. She is hardly OTT.
  • For nightwear find things that are pretty. Thats the main word, not glamourous or stunning: pretty. Slight beading, soft colours, silky materials, slight heels. She has great poise and never overdoes it.
  • Minimal accessories! The most she wears is a delicate chain, a belt or a scarf, but a staple is a good bag or clutch.
  • She's very simple with shoes, clean cut designs, nothing flashy or teeteringly high.
  • Hair is nearly always left loose with a middle parting and make-up is light, with the most being red lipstick. Her skin is clean and dewy with bronzed cheeks.
Hope you enjoyed this weeks style post! If you have any requests please feel free to ask!

    017: la semaine

     Nails: Models Own- Gold Digger
01: I'm back babies! I have to say, I didn't really leave the blogosphere in wonder of my disappearance since I left a few scheduled posts but I, myself, feel like I haven't blogged in ages! My january exams are finished and I feel a weight has lifted off of me. I have to reiterate, however that I'm still jittering about like a mad person in eager yet frightened anticipation of my results. Wish me luck!

02: I went out on Friday night for basically the first time. It was brilliant, in fact here's a breakdown. I watched Year One before going out (I hadn't laughed that much since The Hangover), then we got into town and I bought an energy drink which made me want to gag. I also saw my chemistry teacher which was a bit strange....out and about...like me. Anyway we went into the first pub and chatted, met up with old mates and then the rest of the night consisted of just walking into other pubs. There was a girl who got up and was dancing (we all thought she was a boy at first) and then she comes over to me of all people and gives me her hand. I, being the epitome of innocence, slapped it thinking she wanted a high five but she stayed with her hand outstretched, BECKONING. I gave a blank look and she went back to her dancing, and then she came back to ask me to dance. Why do I get the weirdos? Later in the night I saw a BEN BARNES LOOK-A-LIKE. We totally had a moment as I bumped into him but then my friend dragged me away. He had blonde hair and perfect smile and ahjashjsahdjs yeah. Then we hung out with this cool guy and two weird old guys. One of them was like "Yeah I'm 23" and the young guy said he was 25 and we were like.....yeah sure you're 23..creep. A guy purred at me, a weird fisherman type guy beckoned me to go outside with him and....yeah. That was my night. Hope you enjoyed that.

03: The book I'm holding in the picture is called The Goddess Experience: Goddess Guide II. I picked it up in River Island for £5 (on sale) and I am in love. Gisele Scanlon has basically listed 1001 micro-pleasures and it's stuffed with fashion, interior, fitness, food, beauty, shopping and just...everything. I will do a more detailed post if you want! I am in serious love with it and I recommend everyone to buy it!

04: My mood just dropped to an all time low as I watched The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas today. You may remember when I read Anne Frank how I got a teensy-weensy bit obsessed with her. The main reason was of course her style of writing which drew you, as the reader, into the story as if she was talking to you. The other reason was of course the Holocaust. The Holocaust is one of those things I will never be able to stomach, and it almost haunts me. I'm ashamed to share the name of our species, the species who once experienced the mass murder of 6,000,000 Jews while a great number of the rest of the world did nothing. My head feels like exploding when I try to imagine what Hitler could have been thinking, but my heart breaks as I think and imagine what the poor, innocent victims had to uphold. It's not because they were poorer than the rest, most of them were like you and me, some were rich. The Nazis showed no mercy, and it still terrifies me. I may sound like a wuss, or slightly obsessed but I feel really strongly about this, it's strange. The film was beautiful, the boys were beautiful, it upheld the innocence and cluelessness of some people about the nazis and the end was tragic. It triggered something inside of me and it horrified me. Has anyone else seen it? Everyone is telling me to read it, but I don't think I can.

05: Sorry I changed my layout again, I wanted a new header but blogger has done something stupid that makes new headers resized and blurry so only change your header if you absolutely HAVE TO. I've fallen back into my pastels and nudes.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
    Lots of love,

    December Inspiration: Peter Pan Collars

Yes this is just a tad late but let's not complain okay.... -.-
    1 2 3 4
    5 6 7 8

PETER PAN COLLARS. I crave thee so much. The irony of my unbelievable obsession for them is that I own none. Zero. Zilch. Nada. That's sad isn't it? New Look has impressed me greatly with the one Lily is wearing in the first picture, and also this one caught my eye in store. New Look really need a better photographer, their website pictures don't do their items any justice! I was also very nearly going to buy the yellow one Emily is wearing in the fourth picture, from Topshop. I don't know why I didn't...I don't know if yellow suits me? Who knows.
Do you own any peter pan collared items? If you've got any outfit posts of you wearing any please tell me, I'd love to see them!

    Lots of love,

    STYLE: Blake Lively

Blake Lively, the free-spirited beauty who stars as Serena Van Der Woodsen in the hit show GOSSIP GIRL. I'm a huge fan but I think one thing to point out is that I find people sometimes blur the line between Blake and Serena. Then when they see Blake in an interview they're surprised to find her to be a lovely, intellectual and down-to-earth woman. She's beautiful, inside and out. I love that she has fun with her style and it's very broad. I kind of see my style in her outfits, I love mixing and matching in styles and trends. I'm in LOVE with the first outfit and am excited to recreate it. I was a bit hesitant to the denim peeking through underneath the skirt but for some reason it's growing on me. Who knows if it's intentional or not, the point is she makes it work. I also LOVE the first outfit on the last row, when I saw her wear it on Gossip Girl I think I was drooling. It is summer perfection. Beautiful brights and flowy material.
Her evening wear consists of interesting pieces, she never picks the safe dress she always puts on interesting pieces. I love the yellow dress, it seems Aztec-y with a modern twist.

    HOW TO DRESS LIKE BLAKE:

    • Don't play it safe. Get outside of that box, if you see an interesting dress/item don't look at it and walk away thinking "Nah I could never pull it off..", instead throw it on and walk with confidence.
    • LEGS LEGS LEGS. Blake is blessed with gorgeous never-ending legs that reach to the sky. Don't hide your legs, whatever size they are. Get them out with minis!
    • Minimal accessories. Because of your wow pieces, tone down on the accessories. A belt here, studs there and maybe a slim bracelet is all you really need.
    • Heels are your new best friends!
    • Dabble in different styles. Blake wears a pretty dress and punks it up with a leather jacket, she can also go casual by wearing jeans and a tshirt. She goes girly with floral shorts, and then goes sexy with a fitted black dress. Mix + match and HAVE FUN.
    • Finally, let down those cascading locks. Blake is known for her gorgeous blonde hair. If down, put some waves in them for body. Or scrape it up into a topknot/ponytail. She seems to be able to pull anything off. Makeup-wise she's very simple. Think flawless, glowy skin, eyeliner, rosy cheeks and blush lips.
Hope you enjoyed this! What do you think of Blake's style?

Keep or return: ASOS Gingham skirt

This finally just arrived! It's growing more and more on me but I still don't know. I think it's the material, it's very light and almost cheap-y but that may just be me being stupidly picky. Tell me if I should KEEP or RETURN in the comments or just click like below for a quick "keep". If you want to buy the skirt yourself then here you go.
I'm feeling really weird because I'm going out on Friday night, basically for the first time. I'm just not a club person but I think we're going to a pub which isn't that bad I suppose. Of course I won't be drinking alcohol but I will be consuming a lot of energy drinks. This may be a mistake since I can go a bit crazy with energy drinks...I'll be sure to make an outfit post for it though! Apparently we have a tripod, so I'm going to dig that out and use it.

Sorry for the quick post...I have two scheduled for you this week. TWO. Am I not the best?
    Lots of love

    BEST BARGAIN SO FAR

A tweed blazer from New Look reduced from £40 to £8. I was so excited when I caught a glimpse of this, it's PERFECT. I've wanted a tweed blazer ever since I looked through Zara's website but I didn't want to pay a lot for it (...no reason really haha). I love the tiny details like the gorgeous brooch, and the multicoloured threads that you see dotted throughout the jacket. It's an absolute gem of a piece and I love it. The only thing that could make this blazer better was if it had elbow patches. I'm very tempted to do some DIY ones on this blazer and my DP one. If I do I'll be sure to make a DIY tutorial.
I also just watched Gemsmaquillage's outfit video where she shows a nude blazer that she got in the H&M sale for £10. Probably going to try and pick that up too! Going on a bit of a blazer route...I also saw a black lace skirt that I had been eyeing up a few weeks ago in the H&M sale for £7 so I definitely need that in my life too. I just seriously need black skirts so I can throw them on with everything.
I've got two style posts gathered up! I just need to write the tips and stuff for it. Also after reading Kavita's style posts, would you guys like me to make up an outfit that's inspired by the style icon? Obviously I'd keep it affordable so everyone can try it. Let me know what you think!
Tell me the best bargain you've snagged so far? I love hearing bargain stories! BARGAINS RULE!
    Lots of love

    016: la semaine

01: AAAAAAH EXAMS. Breathe...breathe. Ok. Biology went fine on tuesday, I THINK. I hope. I'm terrified, I really don't know how to judge exams anymore- I never know if I've done well or not in A level. Chemistry started off brilliantly but the last two pages were HEART-WRENCHING. I couldn't do it, and I was so disheartened. However todays statistics exam went really well, I think I've done okay in that (fingers crossed for me please?) I have one more exam which is on thursday (the other chemistry one).

02: I want to reveal how I'm going to give you lots and lots of blogposts after my resits but alas, that won't happen. After my resits I'll have to tweak my biology coursework, revise for some biology end-of-topic tests, do some tutoring for year 11s and revise FOR MOCKS. Yes I have mock exams coming up. So I have to cut down on posts :'( I'm sad because I love doing blogposts but unfortunately I spend a lot of time on them. I take ages editing pictures, planning what to write, doing some research...sigh. I just think it automatically looks better when your posts are well laid out, well written and well presented.

03: The blazer is from dorothy perkins and I got it for £20. Actually it's an extra 10% off so £18, but then I got ANOTHER 10% off for student discount so it went down to £16.20. To my horror I find that DP's shipping is £4. I was momentarily shocked but it was immediately rectified when I got an email saying my blazer was despatched on Monday and then I recieved it on Tuesday! AMAZING. Ahem, ASOS why hasn't my skirt arrived? The one I ordered 2+ weeks ago? I think next time I'm just going to pay for shipping! Anyway the moral of this story is, DP deserve more love! They have some real gems, and the blazer is beautiful quality.

I think this video thing is going to be a regular. My current obsession is KARMINCOVERS. I am literally in love with both of them, the girl is so so so beautiful! I am in awe at her smile, it's just so stunning. The guy is super adorable too of course. He reminds me of Ethan from 90210.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

    015: la semaine

Belgian Waffles with maple syrup and whipped cream. Normal brekkie.
01: Well this post doesn't feel as special now, since I had that scheduled post. I completely forgot about it and it popped up when I checked on the blog! Oh well, I promise I am revising. It's just SO DULL. Fortunately I'm doing great at Statistics. There's something special about maths, even though it's hard at first you ALWAYS eventually get it. Even if it does take a long time. Chemistry is going ok but biology? UGH. Biology was the subject I found the easiest because most of it is understandable. However there are a few things that are just WAY OUT THERE. It takes ages to get your head around and it's so frustrating. But the most frustrating thing? They always ask a question on it. Always.

02: The top pictured above is one I found in the ASDA sale. It was a steal for £4 and honestly I think it's one of my favourite pieces. The pink and black is from Primark and I literally bought it because I saw it in Lily's haul, and also because it's SO SO NICE. I'm seriously in love. I'm really tempted to make a haul video after my exams. Shall I? It's just that I hate my voice. WITH A PASSION. And my accent...ugh. I sound like a twat. But we'll see, it might be fun. Anyway, the top is gorgeous. So many trends in one item of clothing. Lacy, tie-dye, monotone, sparkle. LOVE IT.

03: I'm actually LIKING Whip My Hair. Is that bad? She is seriously talented! But I may be biased because I love Will Smith haha! Anyone else enjoy the song? Come on, let it out...also I found this girl did an acoustic version. SO COOL.

    Jealoussss. Anyways back to revision.
    Lots of love

    MACBOOK

Yes I will be joining the Apple computer world. I have an iPhone and my dad has an iPod which we both love but I'm so so so excited to finally leave PC and enter APPLE. I don't know when I'll be getting it, hopefully after my exams.

This is also a little "hiatus" post. I'll be back after the 20th when my exams will be over. I'm signing off for the next 3 weeks (except for la semaine posts). I'LL MISS YOU ALL!

    STYLE: Vanessa Hudgens

YES another Disney star. I must be pretty "pathetic" to some but I honestly don't differentiate between disney stars and "normal stars". They're all famous somehow or another- it just so happens one of them was famous from Disney. And I actually loved HSM. I remember when it first came out me and my friend was so excited! The third one was by far the best. I always loved Vanessa Hudgens; she's very pretty and has a lovely style.

    Images from Steal their Style.
The main word I'd use to describe her style is casual. Her every day clothes are very laid back and dressed down. Her style would be a perfect muse/inspiration and here's how to get her style:
    • Jump on new trends. Vanessa always wears on-trend pieces like knee-high socks, combat trousers, wedges, textured/floral dresses and chunky cardigans.
    • ACCESSORIZE! Vanessa wears the coolest accessories; she always has the most prettiest bags so make large leather bags your new best friend. Hats and pendant jewellery are a great thing to dress up with too.
    • Always dress casual and dress it up with accessories. A tshirt and jeans? Throw on a hat, a necklace, a gorgeous bag and some beautiful shoes. VOILA!
    • You don't need to always wear heels to look glam! I find so many celebs only wearing heels out and about, I love that Vanessa wears flats with jeans. It's so laid back and down to earth.
    • Night-time, she looks best in her short dresses. She chooses very girly/frilly pieces which she keeps simple with minimal accessories.
    • HER HAIR. Her hair is one of her best accessories. Long, cascading waves add a little something to her outfits and when she throws on the hat over it- she looks so fresh! At night she looks best when she puts her hair up. You don't want to overpower your dress with hair and make-up.
    • Makeup-wise she's pretty simple, and in most candids she wears none! Embrace the natural look.
    • Grab a Zac Efron. SIGH we can all dream. Apparantly they've broken up? :'( It's okay Zac, come over I can give a shoulder to cry on.
    Until next time!
    Lots of love,
    Shabna xoxo

p.s. I may do a Vanessa Hudgens hair tutorial. Shall I? I always used to wear it.

    My room

    Bed, Wardrobe + Desk: IKEA.
I had promised to do a "room tour" in the Summer last year but I never got round to it. I'm a very cluttered/messy person who has to have everything neat when studying or working. I don't know why but the clutter makes me feel cluttered and I can't do any work until it's all straightened out. If you guys have posted room tours then please tell me! I love seeing other people's room (how creepy).

By the way I changed the comment system again :S This ones a bit neater!
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I am freaking out- EXAMS NEXT WEEK. EEEEEEEK!

edit// I got rid of the comments systems. It was probs annoying to keep signing in and crap. Until Blogger makes a nice reply system I'm just leaving it the way it is. Sorry for the inconvenience xx
