Ring a ding ding

Not much of a post, I just wanted to show you four new rings I've acquired recently. The turquoise and coral stone ones are from H&M and are only £3.99 each! They also have a brown one and a white one but these two were the prettiest. The other two are from BHS and they were on sale for £2 each. I love the big purple one, its the perfect evening cocktail ring and it's so glam! My ring obsession is really growing and I'm aching for a disney couture ring and a YSL arty. SIGH if only I had money!

So this week has been extremely unproductive and I've done barely any revision. Mocks are going to be a literal fail :(
By the way, I'm glad you guys enjoyed the tutorial, I got some lovely comments and tweets from you guys :) Also I'm selling another dress, woo.

DIY Turban Headband Tutorial

I've been seeing these headbands everywhere recently, the first time I saw one was on Lily's blog which happened to be the first time I stumbled onto her blog too. They look very casual and laidback which I love! HOWEVER they don't work on everyone! I think the main reason is what you wear it with, make sure it's not too dressy otherwise the headband will look very out of place. Anyway I didn't have money to buy a Babooshka one so I played around with a black tshirt, scissors and sewing machine and decided to take pictures along the way. I hope you guys try this, it's very very simple!

YOU WILL NEED
  • A tshirt or some stretchy material in any colour you'd like.
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine or needle + thread
  • OPTIONAL beads/sequins to embellish your band! I need to try this ;)
METHOD
Cut out two strips of material. I have no exact measurements just play around. If it's stretchy it's sure to fit, just make it quite wide since you'll be folding it over.

Fold it in half, if you're using a tshirt and there are some seams make sure the seams are on the outside.

Pick thread that matches your material!

Sew the sides, leave the top and bottom open.

 Turn inside out!

Place the strips crossing over like shown above.

Bring the opposite sides down. This is hard to explain, if you can't do it this way then put the two strips in a "u" shape and cross over. Just try to get an "x" shape like shown above.

Fold it over and line up the edges. Make sure this is wrong side out, especially if you're using patterened fabric.

Sew up the edge. Sew it a couple of times to keep it secure on your mahoosive head (joking joking).

Turn inside out ET VOILA!

A simple turban head band, perfect for every day! Excuse my no-make-up face and pj's, I get bored at night so I make...turbans... Sounds like a bloody facebook group haha!

Hope you guys try this out! If you do pleeeaase show me?
Lots of love,

Printemps // Spring

Ahhhh Spring is here! And seeing all these LOOK Fashion show posts have got me aching for some new spring clothes. I'm loving the delicate and feminine pieces again this spring shown by the dresses and the blous but I'd really like to buy a leather jacket. This New Look one doesn't set the bank balance back too far at £34.99 so I think that ones my best bet. The only problem I find with jackets is that they never fit me really well. I only have a couple that fit to my body perfectly so this leather jacket business may take some time. I can't wait to get my hands on the Topshop Sandstorm collection, everything looks amazing. I'm definitely getting that gloss stick and also the bronzer!
What's your must-buy/have for SS11?

P.S. can I just say how BEAUTIFUL that bag is? It's stunning! If only I had £95 to splurge on it, be mineeeeeeeeeeeee.

1. Topshop Cream Lace Panel Embroidered Dress: £50.00
2. Topshop Pleat Dress by Love: £38.00
3. New Look Cropped Biker Jacket: £34.99
4. Topshop Lipgloss Stick in Ablaze: £8.00
5. New Look Tie Peter Pan Blouse: £15.99
6. New Look Pleated Shift Dress: £26.99
7. Dorothy Perkins Fiorelli tan quilt satchel: £95.00
8. Dorothy Perkins Gold crossover glitter shoes: £35.00

P.P.S I'm selling a dress on ebay! Check it out ;)

019 + 020: la semaine // Camel Lace-up Boots

(Heh Phineas & Ferb in the background of the first one...)
01: My new loves. If any of you are old readers you may remember my shoe obsession. I don't often buy shoes but I do think about buying them a LOT. My last babies were the Dorothy Perkins Wedges and before that my ASOS heels. These are also Dorothy Perkins and I LOVE them with such a passion. They're so easy to walk in but give me loads of height and ahhhh I love them! I went a size up and I'm glad, it fits while still giving me room for socks. If you want to buy them DP still have them in size 6 and 7.

02: I'm going "charity shop" shopping today, I'm going to keep my eyes WIDE open for potential oppurtunities. I'm thinking wide trousers into shorts, long skirts into minis etc. I also want to find satchels and shoes so I'm going to trawl through all the charity shops in my town today. Wish me luck ;)

03: My week has been pretty laid back. Just doing some revision, sent off ucas and now half term is going to be bliss. I've been getting such good sleep I feel so relaxed. Now if I just put in some Yoga I should be a new person by the end of the week haha!

04: Thanks for the lovely comments in my last post, they seriously light up my day. I have a tutorial coming up on how to make a "turban" headband so keep your eyes peeeeeled for that! OH and my friend said she has a wholesaler who sells bulk rings, and not ordinary rings: beautiful turquoise stone rings and tibet rings so would any of you be interested? She told me last month and I've been  pondering whether I should do it. I'd sell them fairly cheap too which is the plus! Paying a tenner for one in topshop is annoying when you can get it for £3-£5 from me ;) Tell me what you think!

Ok that's all from me. I need to revise damn!
Lots of love,

Someone like you

Blouse, top (under) + jeans: Primark
Ring: H&M
Earrings: Topshop

I took these pictures super quickly hence the blurriness but I'm not really bothered. I really need to buy a wireless remote for my Canon, anyone got any recommendations as to where to buy one relatively cheap? It'd be much appreciated! Anyway, I went to Bromley today and I loved it! Such a pretty town and some great shops. Of course I stepped into primark and bought some goodies! I may film a haul video but I don't know. Should I? Nevertheless, this top caught my eye, mainly because it's very close to this topshop one that I was considering buying in my wishlist. However that one is £35 and my primark one is £10. No competition really...the primark one feels lovely too so I'm very happy.

I haven't got much to say. Half term has started so I'm thinking a week of good sleep, films, tons of revision and baking. I made pineapple upside-down cake today and it came out super yummmyyy. Moist and light at the same time. It's definitely an indulgent though.

After my mock exams I've decided I'm going to joing the gym. My friend showed me hers and they lots and lots of brilliant classes, and I think it'd be much better to do classes with others which'll spur you on to succeed rather than jog on the treadmill at home and then stop halfway. SIGH. So wish me luck!

Hope you all have a fabulous half term, or week.
Lots of love

Leather, pleat + zip

Top: ASDA
Skirt: Matalan
Blazer: Dorothy Perkins
Ring: Topshop
Nails: Models Own Gold Digger with Juicy Jules over it (nails in ring pic: OPI Yoga-ta get this blue)

I am in so much love with this skirt. I was looking through the Matalal sale racks and saw this and BAM I had to have it. It's so different and unique, I have nothing like it in my wardrobe. You can hardly notice that its leather, my friends only realised when I pointed it out. It feels really nice too, it's obviously not real leather but it feels buttery soft and smoooooth. And the best part? Reduced from £18 to £4.50. KILL ME NOW. I AM THE BARGAIN QUEEN. SPREAD DA WORD.

The ring was an impulse buy. I hardly ever do impulse buys due to my lack of money and horrible guilt complex. I always feel bad for wasting money so I stop myself buying most things...I'm glad I have that otherwise I'd be an out-of-control hoarder. However I couldn't resist this ring, especially as I'd been wanting to treat myself to a ring. This ring is stunning! I find armour-inspired rings to be beautiful but they're more on the rocker-ish side in brushed metal or dirty silver or brass etc. This is a feminine take on the style and the beautiful semi-precious stone just sets the gold off perfectly. I always feel so special when I wear it. Topshop rings are making me want to hyperventilate there are too many gorgeous ones!
My boots should be arriving soon! FINALLY I shall own some ankle boots. I went a size up on these as I usually find ankle boots too small when I try them on so I praaaay these fit! Otherwise I'll have to exchange but it's okay since there's still a 6 on the site. I hope it's still there haha! I will definitely snap loads of pictures when I get them. I really want to wear heels regularly so I have to start somewhere right? Hence me purposefully buying these boots which will hopefully force me to wear them to school and become immune to the tripping and smashing my face on the floor scenario (fingers crossed).

I hope you've all had a brilliant weekend! I forgot to do a la semaine post but I can't be bothered, I'll summarise these two weeks this Sunday HAHA. My posts may decrease due to my mock exams coming up! EEEEP.
OH and by the way: HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! If you are lucky enough to have a loving other half then have a wonderful day. If single make sure you share your appreciation to your other loved ones! Life would be extremely boring and trivial without the love of close friends and family.
Lots of love,

After tussling with the idea I've finally started ebay. I have two items up for sale, so if you're interested please bid! I promise I'm trustworthy<3 CLICK ON THE IMAGES TO GO TO THEIR EBAY PAGES :)

Both items have never been used but they're beautiful! The first one is from topshop and was RRP £16 (starting at £3) and the second one is a vintage NEXT item starting at 99p!
If this goes successfully I will be selling this jacket up on ebay. If anyone wants to just buy it now I'll sell it for £25 + shipping (RRP £100 in store). It's a size 14, it's nude (on trend!!) and it's real leather.

Tangled

Jumper: Matalan
Skirt: Topshop
Hat: A stall in Rome

I got this jumper in December and I love it. It's so baggy and casual but the shimmer/glitter effect of the knit makes it glamorous too! I wore this when I went out a few weeks ago and it was perfect. Comfortable yet pretty! You've all seen the skirt before, I've featured it in a few other outfits. I haven't been giving it love since I have the gingham skirt from ASOS and the lace skirt from H&M, but I'm definitely wearing this outfit tomorrow. (btw sorry about my face, I'm so tired and slightly ill, and I don't bother with much make-up for school! Also the pics are slightly crappy due to the awful rainy day we're having.)

I'm veeery excited, my friends and I are going to Costa for drink and chat. It'll just be like old times and I really need to relax, hopefully my UCAS will be done by then too so I can actually chill (before revising like crazy for my mock exams). After Costa a few of us are going to watch TANGLED, and I am so excited! As soon as I saw the first advert I knew I had to watch it! I still haven't watched Princess and The Frog which I really need to watch. If you don't know, I'm a disney obsessive; especially for Disney Princesses (my fave is Jasmine!). I will be sure to tell you all how it went! :D

So I had a bit of a shock today as I realised I have one more week of school which means....TWO WEEKS UNTIL MOCK EXAMS. OH CRAP. I am literally crying with fear, especially as right after the mocks I get my results. -.- EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. Oh save me now...
I hope you've all been well! Thanks for your sweet comments on the last outfit post, they mean so much to me! I love reading + replying to comments! Also if you have blog please tell me, I love reading new blogs! It's a time-consuming pleasure ;)
Lots of love

All my life I've been good but now

Blazer: New Look
Top: H&M Garden Collection
Skirt: H&M
Clutch: ASOS
YAY good lighting. I felt horribly nauseous in school today so immediately after the lesson I hitched a ride with my friend into town and went home. I'm a badgal I didn't go to assembly! :o I felt a teeny bit better at home so I decided to take pictures of my outfit today and since the sun was shining I thought this was the perfect oppurtunity. I love it when the weather is nice, everyone is suddenly bouncy and happy and there are smiles everywhere!
Anyway the outfit was a bit of a new one. I haven't worn that top in ages, I got it from the H&M Garden Collection last...spring? Wow how time flies! It's a nice top but it always slips down a lot and I hate that because I kind of hate showing cleavage LOL. It's a very awkward size too, it's too long for a top but too short for a dress. I wore my H&M lace skirt under it but honestly it makes the top look like a dress with a lace slip. Ooer. I'm not much of a bodycon skirt kind of girl but maybe I'll try one out. I've shown you the blazer before, as my best bargain so far. I found a gorgeous top in zara today and it was basically a normal tshirt but with a leather front. It was only £9.99 but I didn't have time to pick it up! I'm definitely picking it up when I have the chance but I can just imagine waltzing in there and finding none there. UGH. I was also very tempted to pick up Revlon's photoready foundation since it was £3 off in Boots. Should I? What do you guys think of it?
I still haven't decided on Universities! I think I'm applying to; University of East London, University of Westminister, Oxford Brookes University, University of Greenwich and maybe Coventry University?
Can you guys tell me what you think of these, in case any of you or your friends/family have been there? I'd love to hear opinions and stories!
FINALLY uhhh what do you all think of the photos quality? Better?! The problem was I was editing them while they were RAW and they looked great but I resized them after they were converted which makes them pixelated. In these ones I just uploaded their HUGE sizes onto flickr because I have no idea how to resize them in RAW. I need photoshop! Ajhdahjhdsadasjda. I'd really like my MacBook now too but my dads putting it off for a while since he has to pay for his car to be fixed. I don't mind, I feel incredibly lucky and blessed that my dad is even considering buying one!

Hope you all had a brilliant weekend!

019: la semaine // topshop wishlist

1 2 3
4 5 6

I'm not feeling very well, hence the no pictures for this weeks la semaine. I've been feeling a little off about the blog, I don't know it's so time consuming, sometimes I don't know why I do it! Then other times I love it! I think it's because I'm so busy and stressed right now. Anyway lets go through the wishlist.

1) I have to have this top. As soon as I saw it on polyvore, my heart started beating fast and my eyes were popping out of my head. The detail of the watercolour print is incredible and I love how flowy, and lovely it is. I'm definitely going to pick this one up.

2) I saw my friend wear this the other day and I just stared in awe. It's seriously gorgeous on screen and in real life. If you have some spare cash knocking around BUY THIS.

3) A classic trend. This kind of shirt is everywhere and seems to be a current staple. I SO want to buy it! It would look amazing with jeans, or a bodycon skirt, or leather leggings. Such a versatile piece. The collar really sets it off.

4) I fell in love with this dress the first time I saw it. The shape, the print, the details. I would snap it up right away if I had money, it looks so flattering and the colours are so pretty!

5) AHHH of course I'd love this, I love embellished ANYTHING. The price is too outstanding to consider this but I think it would be an amazing DIY. The only thing to watch out for is the shape but if you get that rights it's just a case of going gems crazy!

6) This ring looks far more expensive than it is. I have YSL arty ring cravings so I let it subside by looking at cheaper rings, and this one looks like a keeper. I may have to pop down and pick this one up!
-------------------

I had my room rearranged and it looks so much better now! A LOT bigger mmmm. I will make a new room tour post :) It's very cluttered at the moment and I also had a HUGE revelation at how much clothes I own: TOO MANY. That's why I'm changing my retail ways, I'm thinking spend more on less. Maybe one "splurge" a month? Splurges are usually on things that last a long time so this could be very cost effective. We'll see! I need these sales to die down.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend.
Love Shabna xo

I'm perfectly good at it

Jumper: Topshop
Skirt: H&M
Necklace: Primark
Ring: Topshop

Why do my pictures keep coming out grainy?! Am I only capable of taking close-ups? Any advice people?
Anyway I got this jumper in the boxing day sale and I love it. It's cosy and neutral and easy to throw on. The skirt is a new staple too, from the H&M sale. I can pair it with anything in my wardrobe and I love that.
So I'm in a dilemma. The fact that my year is the last year to have normal tuition fees has made me regret not applying. I may apply through late entry for Software Engineering! Aaaah why can't I just be normal paced? Oh myyyy I'm so nervous. Wish me luck please? I'm freaking out.
Hhhhh okay calm calm. I have coursework to do and revision for some important mocks. Eeeeeep. Hope you've all been having a lovely week! I may watch The King's Speech tomorrow, I'm excited. I love Colin Firth mmmmm.

Lots of love,
Shabna xo
