Review: GHD Natural Bristle Radial Brush - Size 4

I hate frizz and my natural hair harbors a lot of it. Recently Moroccan oil has saved me but I've wanted a Round Bristle brush for absolutely ages now, I just haven't bit the bullet and coughed up the cash. A lot of the time they're quite pricey which has put me off, however when I was offered an item from the GHD hair care range I jumped at the chance of trying this out.

It arrived a few days later, VERY well packaged and the first thing I thought was "WOW that's huge". The Size 4 brush is a 55mm barrel. This size is good for those with long hair (like me) but they have a lot of other sizes. It took some time for me to get used to using this, it can get fiddly. What I do is apply some mousse, styling spray, styling mist and some Moroccan oil to my hair (if you want more detail on my products just ask! I'll probably do a post on it soon). Then I blast my hair with the hairdryer until it's about 50% dry. Then I take small sections and use the brush to smooth the hair while drying.

Here's a picture of one side dryed with the brush and the other without:

I think you can guess which side is which? My hair is so smooth and soft feeling. It gives a really nice bounce too. I much prefer blow-dry styling my hair rather than straightening now.

My only downside to the brush is that it's pricey. £20 for a brush is steep but I love it. It feels amazing quality, looks great on the dressing table and will last a long time so I'd say it's worth it! I have my eye on the Root Lift Spray from GHD too as it looks very good!

I decided to do it quite lightly so that my hair had a natural wave throughout and I love the look. Next time I might try to blowdry it straight and see if I can be motivated enough to follow it through!

What do you think of this brush? Are you interested in buying?

Tropical

Dress: Primark
Necklace: New Look
Clutch: Primark
Shoes: New Look

Why hasn't this dress soared through every blogger's posts? I don't know what it is about it that drew me to it but I love it. I think it's the pink blossoms, the colours are so vivid and gorgeous. It's a shame that it's too long, hence me belting it up. I will shorten it when I have time though. It's one of those Primark items that you wouldn't assume is from Primark.

I need your help! I was going to wear this tomorrow to Motel but my asymmetrical skirt arrived in the post yesterday so I'm thinking maybe that with a blouse? NOT SURE. What do you all think? Should I wear this Primark dress or a black, asymmetric skirt? TELL MEEEE.

So excited to go to Motel on Thursday, it's my first blogger event! I can't wait to meet lots of people, I'll definitely take lots of pictures! I'm going straight after Uni so it's going to be a long day tomorrow.

Hope you've all been well! What do you think of this dress? OH also last few days to enter my giveaway!

Three Purchases

There's nothing better than that feeling when you buy things that you've been wanting for ages. You feel no regret because you've been wanting them for so long that you've done all your research and you're fully prepared. These three things are basically the perfect things for spring.

First are the nude Vectras.

You've seen me gush over the black versions and I was so close to getting them but they never had my size. So I decided to just go ahead and get the nude ones, they're perfect for spring. I think they look best with bare feet and they look perfect with jeans/leggings. I'm so glad I picked these up, I know I'll wear them to death!

Next is a white lace dress.

It's the H&M offering that everyone owns (click here to buy). It's like a shift dress with three-quarter sleeves and it's so flattering. I think it'd suit everyone! I've been wanting it for quite a while now and I'm glad I picked it up. They have three other colours; a cream, lavender and a black. I may have to get the black one next!

Finally, a pair of coral jeans.

You may have seen me tweeting, trying to decide whether to get the coral pair or the mint pair. I went for the coral but I think I may need the mint ones too. I'm completely sold on coloured jeans! These ones are from Matalan and are £16 but they feel so nice! The material is great and they're stretchy so they really hug your legs.

So there we go. Three things I shouldn't have got but I did. I didn't break my spending ban though since these were all gifts but I'm very happy right now! Can't wait to show you guys them on. What have you cheekily bought recently?

Forward

Dress: Matalan
Necklace: Everours

I call this my pregnant lady dress because it's the weirdest shaped dress I own. I think my ~boobs are too big for it but I don't really care because it's so comfy and I love the collar (sorry for the pics where you see those damn hanger straps argh). It was also only £5 in the sale which I'm happy about. I'm telling myself it just doesn't photograph well but I probably do look like a pregnant teen in it.

I bought quite a few goodies today and I asked my followers for help countless times. If you have twitter please feel free to follow me, I update quite a bit! If you want a follow back just ask! I finally got the Topshop Vectras in a nude colour (you can see on my sidebar instagram widget) and also some coral jeans which I can't wait to show you all!

The weather has been glorious! Sorry I'm posting late but I clearly exhausted myself today as I fell asleep at around 6pm and woke up at 10pm. Will I get any sleep today? I'm not too bothered as I bought the third book of the A Song Of Ice And Fire series and I'm so excited to read it again! Hope you've all been well! Tell me what you think of this outfit?

Do Not Pity The Dead, Harry

*the second pic is a complete joke lmao*
T-shirt: Orange Circle
Necklace: New Look
Ring: H&M
Shoes: New Look

For you long time readers, I'm sure you know that I am a Harry Potter obsessive. I absolutely love it and I miss it so much. I've decided I'm going to read the books in order again as I haven't in a very long time. So this t-shirt is basically my new love. It looks great with the sleeves rolled up and also tucked in to jeans but here I'm just wearing it very casually. It feels great and the cosmic print is so nice! Overall very happy gyal here ;-)

Also featuring a new necklace I randomly picked up, it was around £6 and I really like it. Goes with everything! I'm really loving collar necklaces at the moment and am stocking up. However I'm on a spending ban at the moment. I'm running low on cash and really can't wait for some money to enter the bank account. I've been really bad this month with money and have enforced a make-up ban (only buying things when I've run out). As for clothing...I'm just going to buy things I don't have and I really want (which is everything really...).

I've had a really lovely week. I stayed at my friends on Tuesday and Wednesday and while we did some work we also went to the park and played on the swings and "stuck in the mud' (we're very mature) and then we went to watch The Devil Inside. I was so terrified for it (I'm so easily scared!). Imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be the shittest horror film on this planet. The worst ending EVER. Thankfully we went and watched 21 Jump Street which was hilarious! The weekend will be spent relaxing, doing some work and then catching up with some old friends with a picnic on Sunday! WOO! Hope you're all well!

p.s. broke a scheine rule and posted twice in one day! :o

My Hair Confession

I was contacted by the people at John Frieda about their new Full Repair range. My hair is definitely my most complimented feature. I do count myself lucky to have long, thick hair but it's far from perfect. In fact, I praise the camera's inability to pick up all the frizz! I'm going to let you in on a secret; my hair confession. The truth is, I style my hair at least 4 times a week. Usually it's just blowdrying, but I also put it through straightening and curling. It's very bad but I just can't help myself! I love being able to get different looks and my natural hair is just...bleh. If I were to just wash my hair and then let it air dry it comes out as a huge, frizzy, "curly" mess. I put quote marks around curly because it's hard to describe it as that. Some of the curls are like zig-zags while others are ringlets. IT JUST NEVER MAKES UP ITS MIND! It only looks passable nowadays because of hair products and Moroccan oil. So there we go, my hair confession. I basically cheat.

I'll be getting my hands on a few Full Repair products and will do some reviews for you guys. I am such a hair junkie, I'm actually so excited. So tell me, are you a style addict? And what's your hair confession? Check out the video below, it's quite cheeky trying to make you wonder what they're talking about.

(*hint* it's about hair haha!)

Speckled

Dress: Primark
Jacket: Select
Scarf: eBay
Necklace: Forever21
Bracelet: a local shop
Boots: Daisy Street

I found this dress in Primark, basically the Topshop Speckle Tee dress copy-cat. The material isn't as speckly and soft as the Topshop one but for £8 can you complain? They also have a midi version with a belt if you'd prefer that. I am also in love with this necklace that I picked up yesterday. I went to a meetup yesterday and finally met Maya, Fern (her blog is lovely!), Philippa (amazing artist), Joyce and Helen! I've talked to them for so long, it was so strange to see them! I finally visited Forever21 and was completely overwhelmed. Especially at the jewellery section! The shop felt neverending and there was just so much to look through! I definitely need to spend like a whole day in there.

I'm aware that this outfit isn't very Spring-y but the fog that rolls in, in the morning usually affects my outfit choices. I don't really care, I'm in this rut of wearing black/grey and then throwing the red tartan scarf over it. It's so safe and I just love the look!

Hope you're all well. I will be going to the Motel event on 29th March, so who will I be seeing? I'm very excited! Let me know what you think of the outfit!

Daisy Eau So Fresh

Sometimes you just need a little treat to pick you up. I used to have the original Daisy by Marc Jacobs and I loved it. When it ran out I tried to move on and try new scents but something pulled me back. This time I decided to indulge in the Eau So Fresh version which was on offer on BuyaPowa for a lovely £35. It still smells like the original but it has a little twist, something I can't quite pin down. Almost like a fresh, fruity scent has been pumped through the original. I'm loving spritzing this in the day, it's perfect!

Have any of you tried this? What's your day perfume?

Tantalising

Jacket: New Look
Top: H&M (old)
Leggings & Clutch: Primark
Sandals: Zara

I woke up this morning to a bright morning but I felt crappy. I'm kind of ill and I feel really uncomfortable and bleugh. Nevertheless I went outside and got my sister to take some pics (yay for sister photographers!). I was going to sell this top. The problem is I thought it was a size 16 and bought it thinking that's not too big. Turns out it's a US size 16 and so a UK 20 or 22 I think. However luckily it's easy to wear as you tie it under the bust so I don't think sizing really matters. I don't think I can part with this top, the pattern is too stunning.

I'm thinking of ripping the sleeves off this jacket to make it into a vest. I rarely wear it as a jacket for some reason and I might get more wear out of it! I'll have to think about it... The clutch has made a reappearance- I LOVE IT. Also my beloved Zara sandals that I got last year in the sale, still love you. So comfy but I don't recommend wearing when you walk a lot as it can make your feel swell for some reason (I was practically in tears at the airport last year).

Let me know what you think of this outfit. Also remember to enter my giveaway!

p.s. some funny outtakes hahahaha
