Natural Hair Month?

Let me give you a little run-down of my hair. When I was younger, I despised my hair. It was curly, frizzy, insanely thick and, in my eyes, ugly. I saw straight hair as being the ultimate trait and longed for it. I started straightening my hair in Year 9 and then in Year 10 I got it cut quite short and really thinned out. I've used heat on my hair pretty religiously for the past 5 or 6 years of my life and recently I've started relying on blow-drying too. A few days ago I got lazy and decided to throw my hair up in a bun while wet. When I let it down, I gasped. I literally had a birds nest and I noticed just how damaged my hair was. The ends of my hair felt lifeless and almost straw-like! SO I've decided to go au-natural this month. I'm letting myself have cheat days IF my hair is awful and it's for a special event. Otherwise I'm just going to have to suck it up!

I can already see it working. My current hair routine consists of washing with Aussie shampoo and conditioner, moroccan oil and perfect 10 miracle spray on damp hair, then air dry.

My hair turns out best when I've washed it the night before as it calms down a bit in the morning. I have naturally thick, shiny hair which I'm lucky for but I've taken advantage of it and it really is damaged! Here's hoping my hair gets healthier this month! Anyone want to join me?

  3. Your hair is beautiful really, I have seen people with much worse hair than yours for sure! A girl in my year shaved all her hair off because her hair was that damaged, she is now growing her hair again from scratch! A bit of a crazy way around it, but I think she likes having short hair now!

  6. I think your hair looks really lovely in these photographs!
I have really long, thick, flyaway hair too so I rely on blowdrying especially in the Winter months. When it's a little warmer I like to let it air dry a bit and then pop it in a loose fishtail braid overnight to create waves :) x

  7. Your hair looks really lovely, nice and healthy too. I find my hair a bit dry at the moment. I always try and go for regular trims at the hair dressers, that generally does the trick!

  8. Your hair looks lovely - be thankful for the curls. It's easier to straighten then to curl hair. My hair is naturally straight so it gets quite boring :) x
